I took my wedding ring in for its 6th month check-up to keep up with the diamond warranty. Normally when I go in they are very nice and while the warranty inspection is being done they clean all of the jewelry I am wearing Body jewelry, regardless of whether I purchased it there or not. Unfortunately this time when I went in the sales lady was rude and wrote a nasty note on my warranty card. She seemed irritated that I was not there to make a purchase. I had on my engagement ring and wedding band Cubic zirconia jewelry, only the wedding band was purchased from there. She wrote on the card that I refused to allow her to check my other ring and she told me that the warranty would be voided. Uhhhh . . . the warranty card says it is good for on band and gave the model number. I will get my next warranty check done at a different location.

My friend recently got engaged and thought he had a diamond that he needed to be put into a new setting. ?I had heard my ex-boss talk about a jeweler he knew and highly recommended, so I emailed him and got the referral to see Vic or Raffi.We went downtown to check out the shop. ?It’s been a while since I’d been to the jewelry district. ?From the moment we arrived, Raffi was very attentive, never pushy, no pressure to purchase anything. ?Also vintage pocket watches, when we let him know that the price range we were looking to spend was $500 fashion jewelry, he didn’t miss a beat and pulled out some settings for us to view. The diamond ring that my friends fiancee had received from her family was actually CZ, so we ended up buying a gorgeous sapphire/diamond ring. ?The total with re-sizing was $600, so a little over his planned budget rhinestone jewelry, but still very reasonable and it was well worth the extra $100. ?A beautiful ring.I’d definitely go back here and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. ?While we were waiting for the re-sizing, I was browsing the engagement rings/settings. ?Raffi was extremely helpful and showed me all the rings I wanted to look at, even though we weren’t there to buy one today.They had a variety of price ranges, which was great for us. ?But they also have more expensive jewelry too. ?One of the three-stone diamond rings I was viewing was $42k! ?Beautiful, but a *little* out of the current budget.
My husband purchased my engagement ring and wedding bands from Raffi and Vic and we were just thrilled with their service, knowledge, and selection. We did our research ahead of time so we knew what we wanted and what that should cost. We visited a number of jewelers and Personal Touch had exactly what we were looking for and their pricing was fair. Also their no pressure environment made shopping for our ring a pleasant experience. We were so thrilled with them that we’ve referred them to all of our friends – one friend even flew over from Australia and purchased his engagement ring from them!
Raffi and Vic are the most honest and helpful guys in the industry! ?Their prices are fair and I trust them implicitly. ?My husband has been dealing with them for years and my brother flew all the way from Canada to get his diamond from them. ?I couldn’t recommend them more highly!
My family and friends have been visiting Personal Touch for over 10 years. You will not find ?better jewelers in the entire mart or anywhere for that matter. ?Everyone we have referred loved what they bought and felt that they got amazing value for their money. ?Raffi and Vik, and of course mama, are the best! ?Not only do you get the great deals and fantastic service; but leave feeling like family. I’ve been going to this place for years and they give you the best bang for your buck! I’m surprised that no one has written a review on this place yet Bridal Jewelry, its a true hidden gem. Its located in the middle of the Jewelry District in LA Costume Jewelry, in one of the jewelry malls. This is one of the few stores in the district where you can actually sit down in a comfortable chair (NOT a stool) and relax while looking at jewelry. They have a variety of jewelry available for different ages. I fell in love with this denim jewelry they have called Di-Amanda. I bought a libra pendant for $60. I’ve never seen such jewelry, different parts of the item is denim, instead of metal. I’ve gotten so much compliments about it from my friends. If you go, you should ask for Gloria. She was friendly Silver Jewelry, accomodating, and very knowledgable. I went back with my mom and she had a long chat with Gloria in Chinese. She even brewed us some coffee and offered us some cookies since we were there for a few hours. They have more expensive things, such as diamonds and pearls. My mom asked about some prices, and they might seem pricier than other places. However, after walking around other shops in the area, the quality offered here is clearly higher. You definitely get what you pay for!The few times I went back, they always had regular customer there shopping. But no matter how busy they got, they still made time for me (even though I’m not one of their big customers). PARKING: There is a structure above the building. HOWEVER, it is super expensive. You can get it validated here, but you have to buy at least $1000 worth of goods. There are private lots around the area that are much cheaper than the structure for the building, especially if you are going to be walking around the area.

I had two rings that had been sitting around and neglected for years – a plain white gold band and Tiffany’s platinum band with a tiny diamond. ?I’d been considering selling the rings for some time now and decided to see what it would be worth if I sold it. ?Being new to the area, I Yelped for local establishments and Rothstein Jewelers popped up with consistently good, but not over-the-top reviews – always a good thing.So I headed over there with my guards up expecting to be fed a lot of bull. ?To my surprise, it was actually the opposite. ?Janet was super nice and took her time explaining how they calculate/value the gold and reassured me that there was no pressure to sell that day. ?She calculated the price for both my rings – the plain gold band came out to be more than I anticipated while the platinum one came out lower than I anticipated – primary reason being it was a Tiffany’s ring. ?That said, Janet actually noted that I would get a better return if I tried selling it to someone who would wear it, especially given that it was a Tiffany’s piece. ?I had a great experience and would definitely go back. ?Janet is honest, friendly and professional and really takes her time with her customers.
Rothstein Jewelers challenges my usual retail cynicism. ?I have been going there for more than ten years and have never been disappointed. ?Virtually all their business is by referral — you wouldn’t just stumble onto their location, which is upstairs at a mini-mall. ?And referral business doesn’t prosper by accident. ?Janet and Richard are expert, honest and fair and always give you the straight scoop — what a refreshing change. ?They know their business inside out and seem to always follow the Golden Rule dealing with their customers. ?I first heard about this place from an acquaintance, and took something there to be repaired. ?Since then, I’ve had fine vintage pieces restored, pearls restrung, and purchased countless gifts at a fraction of the price they would be elsewhere. ?They are very knowledgeable and generous with information ?– I never leave without learning something about the material, age, workmanship or quality of my item that I didn’t know before. ?They’re just the best.
This was such a lovely find! ?I had 3 necklaces that were a mess! ?All tangled up. So I just needed a place to fix them and found Rothsteins on Yelp! ?(i love you yelp!) ?They were the nicest people – very knowledgable, helpful, sincere. ?They did a great job, super fast. ?They had a lot of vintage jewelry there too and I ended up buying a darling, little, gold heart pendant. ?When I said I was interested in pendants, she showed me some and I saw a vintage Tiffany heart. ?The woman helping told me the price (which was half of the original) and then explained the price of gold, why the changes in cost from the day before when i had dropped of the pendant. ?She then even took out a book on manufacturer who make the exact same Tiffany design, but nowhere near the Tiffany price. ? I was so impressed that she was as concerned with my money as she would have been her own.They are very honest, helpful, and were more concerned with making me happy them earning a bigger buck. ?VERY RARE.The store is small and it’s run by this woman and her husband. ?I highly recommend them!

Today was my first visit at Rothstein’s and I had a great experience. I took in several pieces of jewelry that I was curious about and wanted to have cleaned. Richard was very helpful in examining and giving me some background knowledge on the pieces. The bracelets I took in to be cleaned were very grimy as they have been in storage prior to being given to me, and Richard worked extremely hard at getting them to gleam again. All told the experience was very informative and successful and he only charged me $5! I would gladly have paid more for the service, but he was extremely gracious about the small bill. I look forward to the next time I have the occasion to come here.
I originally called Rothstein Jewelers because I was looking for somewhere close to my work to get jewelry cleaning done. ?Janet was very nice on the phone and said they’d do it for free unless it needed more work like polishing. ?Then I noticed on their website that they buy gold. ?So Stainless Steel Jewelry, I ?took a bunch of stuff for myself, my sister, my mom and my co-worker to sell. ?I went to a Cash For Gold place first to get a quote – of course, that place was so seedy! ?Then I went to Rothstein Jewelers. ?First off, Janet, is SUPER NICE and personable. ?She was quite busy, but between me and all the other customers that came in (a couple other women were there selling their gold to Rothstein Jewelers), I was very happy with her professionalism and offered me more than the other place for the gold jewelry I was selling. ?Plus I got my wedding ring cleaned while I was there. ?Since some of the pieces I was selling were quite nice, she said I could get more by consigning them at her store if I didn’t need the money right away. ?So, you could score some great “new” jewelry for yourself since I know my pieces on consignment are selling for less than I bought them for at retail prices ?She doesn’t have all her jewelry in the showcase counters so just let her know what you’re looking for. ?I would highly recommend working with Janet!
Great, easy, friendly service…. and in Beverly Hills! How rare!My necklace clasp had broken so I came in to Rothstein and was immediately welcomed by a friendly face. The lady quickly fixed it on the spot, cleaned the necklace and didn’t charge me a dime.
I went by the store this morning on my way to work to have a number of pieces repaired. The woman running the store was incredibly friendly and kind. She offered me trade in value on a necklace clasp that had broken and then replaced it on the spot! Highly recommend this store.

I had 2 watches that needed some adjustments; well, one did and the other was simply dead.I walked into this place and a woman kindly greeted me and let me know the pricing to get one watch adjusted and the other a new battery. In total, it cost ~$22 for both and it took less than 15 minutes! Fast fix indeed I’ll be coming back.|||I forgot how many times that I visited Fast Fix Jewelry Repair in the Arcadia mall, but I always walkout the store satisfied……I took in few vintage timepieces for some touch up and the result is always great. Abraham the store watch tech has great skills and he knows a lot of G-Shock. Sarkis is the owner and he is also good on watches and jewelries. I took in my wedding ring that I thought it is too small Stainless Steel Bangles, but he re-sized is for me with a reasonable price.Ruby the store manager is knowledgeable on their products and always patient to deal with their customers. ?There are a few repair shops in the mall, but I highly recommend this place. They are very reliable and once you visit them, you have to prepare to be greeted like a long lost friend!!!|||Small jewelry and watch repair store located by the food court at the Santa Anita mall, they offer all kinds of repair services: Ring sizing, polishing, stone replacements, custom designs, chain repairs, watch repairs, battery replacements, band repairs, eyeglass repairs as well as engraving. I came in to get my brand new Juicy Ceramic watch band adjusted. It was too big for my wrist. They fixed it while I walked over to other stores, and were very knowledgeable, I originally wanted them to take less off, but they knew it would still be too big for me. They adjusted it within 15 minutes and it fit me perfectly! They are so sweet and even offered to help me with it if I changed my mind later. I paid $14.95 total. Paid only $12.95 for the adjustment, which I consider pretty good considering the fact that the tools aren’t that cheap and the time needed to adjust for a beginner is pretty long.|||You can read the background story here if interested: http://www.yelp.com/bi…Basically, I had gone to another watch store in the same mall to get my watch band adjusted. ?The other guy had jammed one of the pins for the watch links in the wrong way and now it was stuck permanently. ?I took my damaged watch to Sago (sp?) and he took a look at it. ?He said the link was jammed in there permanently and to fix it, he’d have to drill into the watch for a cost of around $20-30. ?However, he also said that it’s a new watch and it’s not necessary to drill into it. ?The link and pin can’t be removed but it won’t damage the watch. ?He then explained that eventually the pins in the watch links will all become loose and he’ll need to solder the pin in permanently anyway. ?He then asked me if I needed the watch band adjusted further and I said no. ?He took about 15 minutes to explain the whole situation. ?I thanked him and asked how much was the charge and he said free, maybe just a smile since I seemed annoyed by the other watch guy damaging my watch. ? I’m an idiot for not having Sago adjust the watch band initially, instead going to the buffoon at Total Time in the same mall.|||This repair shop is located at the Westfield Santa Anita mall, by the food court. ?I came here because one of the arms of my Marc Jacobs sunglasses was twisted. ?I bought them at Solstice but they referred me to Fast Fix Jewelry Repair since they couldn’t fix it. ?The worker at Solstice told me they’ve recommended Fast Fix to other customers before and they’ve always come back happy. ?So I went over there (a few stores down from Solstice), and asked if they could fix it. ?The man said he’d hafta take a look first. ?So…. he just took a look, bent it back Sterling Silver Necklaces, and voila it was fixed! and at NO CHARGE!! ?He smiled and handed it back to me once he was done. ?I would definitely come back here if I have an issue with future jewelry or sunglasses.

I really have enjoyed all my experiences here! ?The owner is super nice, very friendly, and even remembers my name somehow…seems rare these days.I bought a Tissot watch here for my husband-the nice people there resize it pretty often for free. (Quickly and correctly I might add) ?Batteries are also free when you buy a watch from them…I’d definitely purchase my future Tissots from him.They also have some really lovely and contemporary jewelry Sterling Silver Bangles, a nice selection for such a small shop. ?I’m sure you’d find something for yourself or a friend here…A++++ service and customer service, thank you!|||This place is TERRIBLE. ?The owner is a liar and a total chauvinist. ?I went in for a simple watch battery replacement and he quoted me one price ?($12) and when I came back to get my watch he doubled the price ($24) and did not provide a legit reason. ?When I asked him, he simply said, “It costs $24.” ?That is not a fair or reasonable answer. ?You quote me $12 and I expect to pay $12. ?When I told him this Sterling Silver Rings, he said, “That is a woman’s way of doing business and you should be a man.” ?I told him to stop being a chauvinist and to take the battery out of the watch because I would not do business with a liar and chauvinist. ?STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!|||My experience with Arva couldn’t be more different than Skye R’s, sadly. ?We went to Arva and asked them to make us wedding bands that matched the shape of my engagement ring. ?When the bands arrived, they looked nothing alike, and neither of them matched the engagement ring. ?They managed to shape mine a little better, but it was still completely the wrong size. ?As for my husband’s, they repeatedly told us that what we wanted was “wrong”, and that we didn’t really know what we wanted. ?They refused to reshape it to match mine. ?Because our wedding was only a week away (and we’d already paid close to $1000 for them), we took the rings, hoping we’d grow to like them.Well, we didn’t. ?Especially when the plating on my husband’s wore away after only a few months, leaving it a weird dull yellowish color. ?And so instead we went to Icing on the Ring, where they immediately hooked us up with rings that *exactly* match my engagement band and cost half the price (both sets are white gold, so it’s not a metal issue).Unless you have piles of extra money to burn, and enjoy being criticized and bullied by salespeople, stay away from this place.|||I married the WORLD’S BIGGEST NERD. ?My fella wanted a Lord of the Rings elf inscription on the inside of his wedding band. ?Where the hell am I supposed to find someone who can hand etch — in Elvish, mind you — some saying from Lord of the Rings on the inside of a platinum wedding band? ?Arva Jewelers in Century City. ?The place is family owned and has been around for something ridiculous like THIRTY years. ?And there’s a reason it’s still in business. ?They do EXCELLENT work for very reasonable prices. ?Not only do they have a great selection of new and estate jewelry, but they can also custom-make almost anything you throw at them. ?My engagement ring is a family heirloom, but they custom-made a wedding band to go with it, and you’d NEVER know the two weren’t an original set. ?They even took my engagement ring with them to the diamond dealer to make sure the diamonds in my wedding band would be a perfect match. ?They’re meticulous that way, and even better, they’re just a great bunch of guys. ?So personable and helpful — they make you feel like family. ?I just can’t say enough good stuff about this place….|||Similar to Gwen’s experience, my visit to Arva could not have been any more displeasing. I had recently received a Guess watch as a birthday gift, and I was directed to Arva by several store owners in the mall to resize the watch. When I came back 15 minutes later, they proudly handed me the resized watch with one of the hinges pointing out and unhinged – a very clear sign of carelessness and lack of attention to detail. I pointed this out kindly to the main person in the store (who seemed to be the owner), who grunted and, without an apology, returned to the back to fix it. Ten minutes later, he returned with the hinge fixed, but with a huge scratch on the metal band which was not there before.I pointed this mistake out to the owner. This time, he refused to even look at the scratch and began condescendingly lecturing me on the 30 years of business his family has done, and how their bench is made of wood and how it could not possibly scratch the watch. After ten minutes of one sided arguing (and me kindly asking for him to acknowledge the scratch), he finally walked away and said, “I don’t want your business, take the watch and leave.”By now, I was clearly angry since the jeweler is taking no responsibility of his scratch and is telling me to leave his store. After 5 minutes of waiting for him to calm himself down, he finally took a look at the watch, at which point he noticed the scratch I had been talking about 20 minutes ago. He grunted (and again, without apology), went to the back and brushed the scratch off.I couldn’t have gone through a more painful, frustrating, and irritating process to re-size a simple watch. I was treated with disrespect and carelessness. If this is how poorly these jewelers go about taking a few links off of a watch, I honestly question their ability to do anything well with your valuable jewelery.|||Stay away from this place. ?My fiancee went to this place looking for a more personal experience and better customer service than chain jewelers. ?However we ended up with headaches and thousands of dollars down the toilet. ?I wanted a specific style of ring and I was very explicit about what I wanted. ?I even showed him a sample. ?The owner said it was no problem. ?When my fiancee returned home with the ring 2 months later…the ring was nothing like I wanted or what I expressed. ?It was clunky, the wrong ring size, and stones kept falling out and they were all a different shade of blue (aquamarine). ?I lost a stone hours from getting it from the jewelers to my home. ?He claimed that it was the stones that cracked and he reset one. ?He even said that losing the stones is normal. ?I don’t do any manual labor, I type a lot and that is the extent of my heavy workload. I kept losing stones over the next 6 weeks and decided I had enough. ?I asked him to melt the ring and give me something that would not have issues with the stones. ?He wanted to charge me 400 dollars more. ?I insisted that I was going to get the ring redone without extra cost and the only thing that saved me was a customer who walked in and that is when he caved. ?He said that he was losing money and that it was a big favor. ?Big deal. ?When I spend thousands of dollars on a ring I expect it to be set right and to be the setting that I want. ?I also expect it to be the same color stones. ?Stay away…he is the most unprofessional person and dishonest jeweler I’ve ever met.|||I went to this jeweler by the recommendation of a friend, because I needed a simple resizing for a ring obtained outside of the country. Not sure if $120 is the proper amount to be charged for a re-size as this seemed very high to me, and my friend had always paid less than $50. This unfortunately, is just the start. The ring taken in was worth several thousand dollars. When it was returned there was a huge internal crack, causing the once perfect outer facets to reflect this unsightly gash. Arva, the owner, who refused to at first acknowledge this scratch, even after looking through his spectacle for a minute, (although quite clear to the naked eye), finally acknowledged its presence, but insisted that it could not have occurred from resizing. I am not an expert jeweler, that is why I had it serviced, but I know when it went in, it was a perfect stone and when it came back it had a severe defect, rendering its value significantly less. I wish I would have read the reviews here prior to going to Arva, and it would have saved me a lot of grief, from a special gift that is now a reminder of someone’s careless mistake.|||Terrible experience! ?He was unbelievably rude to both me and my mother! ?He incorrectly sized my rings and when I mentioned this to him upon pick up Sterling Silver Bracelets, he became angry and stated he wished he had never taken on the job (in front of another customer!). ?When I pointed out that one of the rings was also misshapen, he quoted an outrageous price to have it fixed. ?I felt abused and taken advantage of because I payed a very steep price for the sizing of those rings. ?I will now have to go elsewhere to get them resized. ?I will never be back and would not recommend anyone else step foot in Mr. Arva’s store.

VENICE GEMI just now turned from my side desk filled with stones, findings, pendants and other such treasures I’ve mined since the day I walked into The Goddess in 2004 to write this. ?It was on Abbott Kinney Boulevard then, and The Goddess ignited my love affair with that street. ?I even celebrated a birthday with friends making jewelry there long after the X who’d brought me in my first time and later splurged on a piece I nicknamed the “Titanic Necklace” was gone. ?Sandrine and her staff, frankly some of the most caring and creative women I’ve had the pleasure to spend time with in LA, taught me to wire wrap soon after I designed my sentimental favorite first piece there. ?I’ve made lots of pretty pieces since then, but my best isn’t in the shimmering stratosphere as Sandrine’s simplest. ?I was heartbroken when it disappeared, but I serendipitously ran into her, and she told me she’d soon be open on Lincoln, sharing the space with Slave, a cool clothing shop. ?It’s not the fairylike Craftsman dream it was on Abbott Kinney, but I’m so grateful it still exists. ?Last year, Sandrine wrapped the blue topaz earrings I’d designed for my grandmother for Mother’s Day. ?Tonight I sit here stacking up my designs gift ideas for men, realizing I want Sandrine’s eyes and hands involved. ?”Go to The Goddess,” says this Friday’s calendar.

The owner, Sandrine, and the people who work with her are exceedingly knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Her designs are clearly crafted with great care and elegance mother day gifts, with healing energies in mind, and with emphasis on the natural beauty and brilliance of each and every stone.I was actually referred here by the gentleman who owns the Wonders of the World store on Lincoln in Santa Monica. I purchased a Rutilated Quartz stone there which I took to Sandrine for wire-wrapping. She took her time with me to discuss what I had in mind, and the end result was even more lovely than I’d pictured. I couldn’t be happier with her work… Oh, and while I was there, I found a stunningly elegant Turquoise necklace that I bought (which I’m wearing in my profile pic, by the way!) and an even more radiant Chalcedony necklace that I didn’t (but only because it was a wee bit out of my price range). I really *really* wanted it, though!!I’ve received countless compliments on both my pieces, since I purchased them in the last week. And it’s with great enthusiasm that I’ve answered the many people who’ve asked where I found such high quality, eye-catching craftsmanship. (The pieces are so nice, in fact, I feel the need now to upgrade my wardrobe so as not to be out-classed by my gorgeous new accessories… Ha!)So clearly I’m not the only one who believes this woman’s work is exceptionally impressive… though ?”john d.” seems to be the only one who does not.
